Elie from the bedroom window

Watercolor of Elie village in Scotland with water in the background.

The family and I got away for a little trip last week and we stayed at an AirBnB with a great little view from the back bedroom window. Here is a little drawing/painting I did of what the view looked like.

I used a pencil, a Uniball Vision pen, Derwent Inktense Watercolors, and Derwent Waterbrushes for this painting.

I love afternoon drawing in the sun.
It doesn’t look it here, but it was actually sunny for a few days on our trip.

  1. Nick, I love your art. My Dad used to do pen and ink drawings when he ventured out, and I have several of them. Out of curiosity, how long does it take you to do something like this one? You have an amazing talent!

    • Thank you Hilary! I think these kinds of paintings probably take between 2-3 hours total but I get interrupted so much by kids, dogs, and life that it takes me a week sometimes to finish one! 😉
