Avon water

Watercolor painting of the river Avon.

I recently got out to explore a new park, the Chatelherault Country Park, in Hamilton, Scotland, and it was a great experience. I took inspiration from that to paint this memory of the river Avon that runs through the park.

As usual, I started this with a line drawing using pencile and pen:

Then, I used masking fluid for this painting to mask the areas of rock and trees when doing the background washes:

I used a pencil, a Uniball Vision pen, Derwent Inktense + Graphitint Watercolors, and Derwent Waterbrushes for this painting.
