Looking down The Law

Watercolor painting of the Ochil Hills.

Here is a recent landscape watercolor painting of a hill called The Law in Scotland.

Going down The Law, one of the hills in the Ochil Hills range, was the best part of my recent hike up Ben Cleuch. After getting to the top of Ben Cleuch, we slowly descended down The Law and the clouds broke, revealing some truly great views.

In terms of the painting, I like the pattern of the farm fields in the distance and tried to play that up with extra colors to give a patchwork feel.

I used a pencil, a Uniball Vision pen, Derwent Inktense Watercolors, Derwent Graphitint Watercolors, and Derwent Waterbrushes for this painting.
