Blue bell wood

This one “looks like The Gruffalo” says my wife. I don’t disagree. πŸ˜ƒ This scene is part of the field where we take our dog Rubee for walks. The woods here are now finally full and the floor is covered with bluebell flowers (I think that is what they are called anyway). It’s quite cool and made for a good challenge with this watercolor attempt.

This one took a bit longer than others to plan out but still I did it relatively quickly (maybe 5 hours of work). I started with a pencil and waterproof pen, and then added washes to get the basic sections of the painting laid out from the back-to-the-front. From there I layered on more and more washes and then finished off with additional pen lines at the end.

I used a pencil, a Uniball Vision pen, Derwent Inktense Watercolors, Derwent Graphitint Watercolors, and Derwent Waterbrushes for this painting.
